Why choose a snap trap?
You can see when it has caught a mouse, remove the catch and reuse the trap. That is particularly useful in a house, garage or shed where you want to retrieve the rodent rather than risk it dying somewhere inaccessible after eating poison.
Getting started
- Look for fresh droppings, gnawing and the routes mice use along edges.
- Put a small amount of suitable food lure in the bait cup, then set the trap as its instructions show. Keep fingers clear of the striking mechanism.
- Place on a stable surface along an active route, with the trigger end towards the wall. Choose a position that children, pets and other animals cannot reach.
- Check at least daily, remove any catch promptly, then clean and reset as directed.
One trap or several?
Mice are usually curious about new objects, so well-placed traps can be a useful first approach. Where signs appear in several places, use more than one trap to cover those routes rather than relying on a single point. The automatic quantity savings make it easier to build your setup.
