Where can I use it?
Use on hard, non-porous surfaces listed on the can, such as suitable doors, skirting boards, tiles and window frames. Test a small hidden area first. Choose a different product for carpets, mattresses or soft furnishings: Dethlac is not for fabrics, wallpaper, furniture, matt finishes or uPVC.
A straightforward start
- Find the routes and hiding places used by crawling insects, then check that the surface is suitable.
- Shake the can. Following its directions, apply in bands 8–15cm wide from 15–23cm away, using bursts of no more than five seconds.
- Keep children and pets away until the treatment is dry. Check for fresh activity and reapply only as directed.
Lacquer or ant bait?
Dethlac treats a surface that crawling insects cross. For a bait that feeding ants carry back to the colony, consider Outcast Ant Bait Stations. These are different approaches; do not spray insecticide onto bait stations.
Before you spray
Use in a well-ventilated area and wear the gloves specified on the label. Keep away from heat, flames and working electrical equipment. Remove or cover fish tanks, exclude animals during treatment and keep spray off food, food-contact surfaces, clothing and bedding.
